I need help paying my utility bills

Are you having an emergency that’s making it impossible to pay your utility bills? Our Low-income Energy Assistance Program can help you with hydro in Port Colborne, Wainfleet or Fort Erie if you meet the criteria.

In order to be eligible, you must…

  • Have a total household income must below the Low Income Cutoff before taxes. See if you meet the criteria here.
  • Show how you will maintain your utility bills if you receive a grant
  • Show you have attempted to pay your bills
  • Have a current account in your name
*Our catchment area for assisting people with this is in Port Colborne, Fort Erie and Wainfleet.
The amount you will receive varies depending on how many people live in your home and how much is in arrears.
